Volleyball Recap: St. Vincent Indians vs. Scott City Rams
Scott City typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday St. Vincent proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Scott City Rams. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on seven straight.
St. Vincent was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-18.
St. Vincent got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brie Rubel out in front who had 19 digs. Rubel has been hot , having posted 12 or more digs the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Light, who had ten digs, a kill, and 13 assists.
Despite the defeat, Scott City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Layla Estes had 12 digs.
St. Vincent's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-8-5. As for Scott City, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-11-3.
