Volleyball Recap: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Boulder City Eagles
Desert Pines was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Boulder City Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10, 25-18.
Portland Yandall paced Desert Pines' offense, picking up five kills. Yandall got some help from Kevin Pacheco Jimenez and his seven assists. Cesar Velasco controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Desert Pines' loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Boulder City, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.
Desert Pines and Boulder City are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the Jaguars and Virgin Valley will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on May 6. As for Boulder City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Somerset Academy Losee at 6:00 p.m. on May 6.
