Basketball Game Preview: Alleghany Cougars vs. Radford Bobcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Alleghany Cougars take on the Radford Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday... Alleghany is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, Alleghany was able to grind out a solid victory over James River, taking the game 62-54.

Meanwhile, Radford hadn't done well against Patrick County recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Radford secured a 60-55 W over Patrick County. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Alleghany is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Radford, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Alleghany beat Radford 53-45 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alleghany since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
