It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Havana ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Midwest Central Raiders 7-5. The Ducks haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Havana let Owen Smith and Jack Turner run wild. Smith scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Turner scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Olson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-5.

Havana's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Midwest Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Havana will host Abingdon/Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tornadoes will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Ducks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Midwest Central, they will challenge Tremont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Turks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
