Baseball Game Preview: Joplin Eagles vs. Willard Tigers

Joplin is 1-8 against Willard since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Joplin 3.5, Willard 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Joplin's last matchup with St. James Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Eagles lost 9-1 to the Thunder.

Meanwhile, Willard had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Republic. Willard might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Joplin's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Willard, their victory bumped their record up to 23-6.
