Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Arcata Tigers

The Heritage Patriots will take on the Arcata Tigers in a tournament on Monday. Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.

Heritage is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Montgomery on Friday. Heritage walked away with a 53-41 win over Montgomery. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Vikings are ranked 135th).

Lucas Daniel was the offensive standout of the game as he posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Grube, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, Arcata didn't have too much trouble with Central Catholic on Saturday as they won 60-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Heritage moved to 5-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Arcata, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Heritage didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Arcata when the teams last played back in December of 2015, but they still walked away with a 71-65 victory. Does Heritage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arcata turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
