Rochester was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Pioneer Panthers 3-2. For the Zebras, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Rochester had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25, 15-8.

Brailyn Hunter paced Rochester's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hunter got some help from Aubrey Wilson and her 18 assists. Wilson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The victory got Rochester back to even at 1-1. As for Pioneer, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Rochester will be playing at home against Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pioneer, they will take on Adams Central in a tournament on Saturday.
