Softball Recap: Fruitdale Comes Up Short

Fruitdale lost against Washington County last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fruitdale Pirates took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington County Bulldogs. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Skylar Loper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Kk Crager, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Fruitdale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Washington County, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Looking ahead, Fruitdale will head out on the road to take on Choctaw County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Millry at 5:30 p.m. Millry has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.23 runs per game on average), something Washington County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
