After flying high against Culpeper County last Friday, James Monroe came back down to earth. The James Monroe Yellow Jackets were beaten by the Caroline Cavaliers 42-14 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 56-27 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Vladimir Joacin Jr. was his usual excellent self, rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries for Caroline. Joacin Jr.'s longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Johnson, who rushed for 88 yards on only six carries.

James Monroe dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Caroline, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4.

James Monroe will venture away from home to challenge Armstrong (Kennedy) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Armstrong (Kennedy) is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 38.3 points per game this season. Caroline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
