Basketball Recap: Garner Skates Past Kopperl with Ease

Garner's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Kopperl Eagles 71-37. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Garner to victory were Brayden Martinez and Dawson Miller. Martinez posted 18 points and eight steals, while Miller earned 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Miller's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Arms, who put up eight points in addition to 18 boards and three steals.

Garner is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Kopperl, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Garner will take on Azle Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th. Azle Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Garner surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kopperl, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-41 loss against Milford on the 3rd.
