Football Game Preview: Rosemead Panthers vs. Arroyo Knights + How To Watch

Rosemead hasn't had much luck against Arroyo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Rosemead turned things around against Mountain View on Friday. They walked away with a 32-21 win over the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Arroyo made easy work of Gabrielino on Friday and carried off a 35-10 victory. Considering the Knights have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Arroyo's win came from a few key players Rosemead will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Angel Casillas, who rushed for 133 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 133 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Arroyo also got help from Benny Nguyen, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

Arroyo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

One reason for the win was Arroyo's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Jesus Lira refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Gabrielino's side was Lira, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (2.5 for loss).

The win got Arroyo back to even at 4-4. As for Rosemead, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Rosemead suffered a grim 39-16 defeat to Arroyo when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
