Basketball Recap: Brother Rice Triumphs

Brother Rice won against Walled Lake Central last Tuesday with 68 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Brother Rice Warriors escaped with a win against the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pilots, too.

Brother Rice pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for De La Salle Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Brother Rice and East Kentwood will compete for holiday cheer at 10:15 a.m. on December 21st. As for De La Salle Collegiate, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Center Line at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. De La Salle Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Center Line likes a good challenge.
