Holy Redeemer and Berwick are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Royals are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.

Holy Redeemer managed to slip by Lake-Lehman the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Royals lost 9-1 to the Knights on Wednesday. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Holy Redeemer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Genovese, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Berwick made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hanover Area on Wednesday. The Bulldogs walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Hawkeyes. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Hawkeyes: they've now won seven in a row.

Makayla Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ashlyn Klahold was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. Morgan Drauschak also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Berwick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Holy Redeemer's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Berwick, their record now sits at 6-4.

Holy Redeemer beat Berwick 3-0 when the teams last played on April 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
