Softball Game Preview: Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers vs. Providence Catholic Celtics

The Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers will face off against the Providence Catholic Celtics at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Joliet Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Manteno on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 11-10.

Addison Fanter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Mackey, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Downers Grove North on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Celtics.

Joliet Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Providence Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9.

Joliet Catholic might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Providence Catholic in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
