Basketball Recap: Yuma Victorious

It's playoff time, and Yuma had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 37-32 win over the Monte Vista Pirates on Friday.

Bailey Nighswonger was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jade Lungwitz, who scored nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Yuma was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They are 10-4 when they've passed the ball that well.

The victory got Yuma back to even at 12-12. As for Monte Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Yuma has already played their next game, a 47-31 loss against Cedaredge on the 8th. Monte Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
