Basketball Recap: UMS-Wright Prep Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

It's playoff time, and UMS-Wright Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Elberta Warriors with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 57-42. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Warriors are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

UMS-Wright Prep has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Elberta, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

As of now, neither UMS-Wright Prep nor Elberta have any future games scheduled.
