Softball Game Preview: Eaton Eagles vs. Brookville Blue Devils

The Eaton Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Brookville Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eaton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Eaton after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-3 to Carlisle.

Eaton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Copper, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Brookville came up short against Bellbrook on Monday, falling 7-1. The contest marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Brookville and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Eaton, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Eaton beat Brookville 5-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
