Basketball Recap: Valley Union Blue Devils vs. Patagonia Lobos
Valley Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Patagonia Lobos, falling 51-11. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-31 back in December of 2024.
Valley Union's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nomar Martinez, who posted four points.
Patagonia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Diego Carranza out in front who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points along with six boards and six steals. Carranza has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Kannon Shore was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points and four steals.
Valley Union's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Patagonia, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Valley Union has already played their next match, a 74-39 defeat against Tombstone on the 3rd. As for Patagonia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-45 loss against San Manuel on the 31st.
