Basketball Game Preview: Frazier Commodores vs. Riverview Raiders

The Frazier Commodores will take on the Riverview Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Frazier is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 59-35 to Greensburg Central Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Commodores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while the Centurions are ranked 94th).

Despite the loss, Frazier saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brant Alekson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Alekson a new career-high.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-39, which was the final score in Riverview's tilt against Neighborhood Academy on Sunday. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly 28 points.

Frazier's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Riverview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Frazier and Riverview were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but Frazier came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss. Can Frazier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
