Recap: Kings Christian Crusaders vs. Avenal Buccaneers
The Kings Christian Crusaders had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45.1 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They blew past Avenal 68-27 at home. Considering Kings Christian has won ten matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ronnie Roche was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Kings Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Elyas Miro, who scored 13 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals.
Kings Christian pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.8 points per game. As for Avenal, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Kings Christian will face off against Tranquillity at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Tranquillity will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1149th, while Kings Christian is ranked 552nd). Avenal will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit Charter Collegiate Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st.
