Softball Recap: Wendell Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Wendell waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over the Soda Springs Cardinals. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Macie Bird was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Audra Bunn was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. She also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jace Olmos, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Wendell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Wendell's record is now 5-2. As for Soda Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Wendell and Soda Springs will both be playing North Fremont the next time they take the field. Wendell will host North Fremont at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Soda Springs will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
