Softball Recap: Point Loma's Run of Ten Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of ten wins, Point Loma's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to make up for their defeat to the Titans from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Annika Isaacson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nanako Schroth, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Point Loma's loss dropped their record down to 15-3-1. As for Eastlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Loma will challenge Cathedral Catholic at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Pointers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastlake, they will square off against Steele Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
