Volleyball Recap: Scott Takes a Loss

Scott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hoisington Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Beavers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Scott was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-22.

Lily Lightner paced Scott's offense, picking up five kills. Lightner got some help from Kinleigh Wren and her nine assists.

Hoisington was led to victory by Brynn Tarlton and Reese Vaughn. Tarlton had 12 assists and four digs, while Vaughn had 11 assists and two aces.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hoisington, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Scott has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Southeast of Saline on the 2nd. As for Hoisington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Holcomb on the 4th.
