Soccer Game Preview: Memorial vs. Jersey Village

Memorial and Jersey Village are an even 3-3-2 against one another since January of 2021, but likely not for long. The Memorial Mustangs will face off against the Jersey Village Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Memorial will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Memorial's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Northbrook with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Meanwhile, Jersey Village has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 11. They lost 4-1 to Cypress Ridge on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Rams are ranked 97th).

Memorial pushed their record up to 6-2-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Jersey Village, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-2.

Memorial suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Jersey Village when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
