Football Recap: Evadale Runs Past West Hardin

Evadale won the last time they faced West Hardin and things went their way on Friday too. The Rebels enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over the Oilers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Brett Buckner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 135 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Those 135 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Evadale's leading receiver Gavin Maxfield was Buckner's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Evadale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Although West Hardin took the loss, they still got scores from Kade Schroeder, Owen Beauchamp, and Marcus Hashaw.

Evadale now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Evadale and West Hardin will both be playing Deweyville the next time they take the field. The Rebels will head out to face the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th, while the Oilers will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
