Softball Game Preview: Valley Vista Monsoon vs. Shadow Ridge Stallions

Valley Vista hasn't had much luck against Shadow Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Monsoon will venture away from home to challenge the Stallions at 3:45 p.m. Valley Vista has given up an average of 16.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley Vista is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They lost 19-4 to Tolleson. That's two games in a row now that the Monsoon have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 runs the game before, Shadow Ridge was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against O'Connor, falling 17-0. Considering the last time the Stallions couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Shadow Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destiny Johnston, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

With the loss, Shadow Ridge broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-9-1. As for Valley Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Valley Vista might still be hurting after the 28-3 loss they got from Shadow Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Monsoon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
