Football Game Preview: Guilford Park Panther vs. Oakland Mills Scorpions + Official Tickets

The Guilford Park Panther will square off against the Oakland Mills Scorpions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated after five games, but that won't be the case come Saturday.

Guilford Park is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Atholton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panther blew the Raiders out of the water with a 45-12 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panther had established a 32-point advantage.

Tyler Lee produced another solid effort rushing for 207 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. A'Yar Reed-Wright was another key player, throwing for 220 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Guilford Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Christian Salcedo, Damarcus Howard-Brown, and Demari Keitt picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Oakland Mills won against Wilde Lake two weeks ago with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Scorpions blew past Glenelg, posting a 50-6 win. Fans of the Scorpions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Guilford Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Oakland Mills, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.
