Softball Recap: Campbell Starts Season with Loss at Home

Campbell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 13-5 to the Mililani Trojans on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sabers of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Taileen Asoau was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nanea 'China' Pantastico, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mililani pushed their record up to 2-0-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Campbell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Wai'anae on the 8th. As for Mililani, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-0 victory against Nanakuli on the 8th.
