Basketball Game Preview: Schaumburg Saxons vs. Conant Cougars

Schaumburg is 2-8 against Conant since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Schaumburg Saxons will host the Conant Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Schaumburg made easy work of Von Steuben and carried off a 74-50 victory. The Saxons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Fenton typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Conant proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 53-42 win over the Bison. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Bison are ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Schaumburg is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Conant, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
