Softball Game Preview: Epping Blue Devils vs. Pittsfield Panthers

The Epping Blue Devils will face off against the Pittsfield Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Epping 3.4, Pittsfield 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Pittsfield is facing Epping at the wrong time: Epping suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 13-6 to the Rams.

Meanwhile, Pittsfield fell victim to Portsmouth Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Pittsfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alivia Lavigne, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pittsfield fell to 5-1. As for Epping, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Epping came out on top in a nail-biter against Pittsfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
