New Waverly and Coldspring-Oakhurst are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. New Waverly will welcome Coldspring-Oakhurst at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

New Waverly's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Crockett with a sharp 15-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for New Waverly, who have now won six games in a row.

Meanwhile, Coldspring-Oakhurst entered their tilt with Anderson-Shiro on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Fighting Owls.

Not much got past Trinity Rosales, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Anderson-Shiro off the board. With that strong performance, Rosales is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jasper Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Ashney Minor was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Coldspring-Oakhurst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

New Waverly pushed their record up to 9-6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

New Waverly might still be hurting after the 14-2 loss they got from Coldspring-Oakhurst when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can New Waverly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
