Basketball Game Preview: Ellwood City Wolverine vs. Clarion-Limestone Lions

The Ellwood City Wolverine will take on the Clarion-Limestone Lions in a tournament on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Clarion-Limestone is hoping to do what New Brighton couldn't on Friday: put an end to Ellwood City's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Ellwood City took down New Brighton 68-54.

Ellwood City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Servick out in front who posted ten points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Clarion-Limestone's win came from a few key players Ellwood City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jase Ferguson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 12 boards, and nine assists. Ferguson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Jesse Siwiecki was another key player, going 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points.

Ellwood City's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Clarion-Limestone, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Ellwood City hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.6 points per game.
