North Schuylkill typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Tri-Valley proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a run and slipped past the Spartans 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Alina Leonard and Myah Schwalm were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Leonard struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Schwalm tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Leonard went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, while Schwalm went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Summer Cupsta-Klinger, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Ava Kramer also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Tri-Valley's record is now 5-3. As for North Schuylkill, they moved to 9-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Valley will square off against Weatherly at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Weatherly has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something Tri-Valley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Schuylkill, they will take on Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.6 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
