Volleyball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short on the Road Against Eunice

Escalante had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Eunice Cardinals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Lobos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cardinals 25-15 in the first set.

Escalante took Eunice into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-25, 15-8.

Rosalina Talamante paced Escalante's offense, picking up 11 kills. Talamante got some help from Elexia Trejo and her 32 assists. Finally, Xavanni Rivas kept Escalante's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Escalante didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Hagerman on the 22nd. Eunice has also already played their next contest (against Dora), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
