Volleyball Recap: Ben Wassilak and Colton Allen Secure Win for Valparaiso

Valparaiso won the last time they faced Merrillville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pirates.

Valparaiso not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Merrillville between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.

Valparaiso was led to victory by Colton Allen and Ben Wassilak. Allen had five digs and five aces, while Wassilak had nine assists and six digs.

They weren't the only good server: Valparaiso was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Valparaiso back to even at 2-2. As for Merrillville, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-3.
