Volleyball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York was the 2-0 winner over Downers Grove North when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Dukes fell 2-0 to the Trojans on Tuesday. The Dukes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

York was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23.

Katherine (Katie) Day paced York's offense, picking up nine kills. (Katie) Day got some help from Amalia Toliopoulos and her 13 assists.

York's loss dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Downers Grove North, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season.

York wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln-Way East on the 22nd. As for Downers Grove North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against St. Charles East on the 22nd.
