Baseball Recap: Monte Vista Christian Takes a Loss

Monte Vista Christian and Fremont squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Monte Vista Christian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 4-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chris Bautista spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Monte Vista Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Wright, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Monte Vista Christian's loss dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Fremont, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Monte Vista Christian nor the Firebirds have any future games scheduled.
