Preview: North Fork Miners vs. Grand Valley Cardinals

North Fork is 0-5 against Grand Valley since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The North Fork Miners will head out on the road to challenge the Grand Valley Cardinals at 4:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, things could have been worse for North Fork, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-38 loss to Roaring Fork. North Fork has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Grand Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-49 victory over Cedaredge. That looming 62-49 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Grand Valley yet this season.

Among those leading the charge was Porter Ostermiller, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Horner, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.

North Fork's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Grand Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.

North Fork might still be hurting after the 62-40 loss they got from Grand Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for North Fork, Kaden Amis (who scored 21 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
