Softball Recap: Milford Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Milford got themselves on the board against Panguitch on Wednesday, but Panguitch never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Bobcats. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Jaidyn McMullin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McMullin was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Paizlee Florence was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckinlee Curtis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Milford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Milford's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Panguitch, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will face off against Altamont at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Panguitch, they will square off against Wayne at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
