Softball Recap: Fair Grove Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Fair Grove barely beat Forsyth the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Panthers on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Aubrie Voorhis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Fair Grove got a massive performance out of Hali Stokes, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayla Haddock, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two RBI.

Fair Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Fair Grove's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Fair Grove will host Buffalo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forsyth, they will challenge Springfield Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
