Basketball Recap: Chesaning Victorious

Chesaning won the last time they faced Birch Run and things went their way on Thursday too. The Chesaning Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over the Birch Run Panthers.

Birch Run's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Fox, who went 8-for-19 en route to 21 points. Chaniya Bond was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five boards and four steals.

Chesaning's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Birch Run, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesaning will venture away from home to square off against Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Birch Run, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
