Softball Preview: Wood Wildcats vs. Vacaville Bulldogs
Wood is 1-9 against Vacaville since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Wood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Vacaville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wood's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pioneer on Wednesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Vacaville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Clayton Valley Charter on Tuesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Ugly Eagles with a sharp 28-20 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
