Baseball Recap: Weston Ranch Comes Up Short

Weston Ranch lost against Tokay two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars came up short against the Tigers, falling 15-5. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nico Orona was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Weston Ranch is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise. Orona was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Dominik Makinano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Weston Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Tokay, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Weston Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 win against McNair on the 16th. As for Tokay, they have also already played their next game, a 15-7 loss against Manteca on the 15th.
