Colonial - Liberty recap Oct. 16, 2012
West Deptford extended the longest winning streak in Colonial - Liberty this week by beating Audubon, 48-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Eagles.
Sterling was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Silver Knights vanquished Gateway Regional 47-8 earlier in the week.
Haddon Heights's dynamic duo of Dante Pinckney and Kashif Miller proved tough for Paulsboro to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pinckney threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns and Miller had 145 yards receiving. Dominique Irons helped Haddon Heights' passing attack out by catching four balls for 73 yards.
Gerald Towns-Owens was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 131 yards as West Deptford lost to the Red Raiders. Connor Smith also contributed to the rushing game with 89 yards on the ground.
Haddon Heights' Pinckney and Miller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Colonial - Liberty in both passing and receiving yards. Pinckney has thrown for 848 yards this season, while Miller, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 10 catches for 286 yards. Clyde Folsom's team's Towns-Owens leads the league in rushing yards with 720.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on Overbrook. At the moment, West Deptford is in first, while the Rams are in sixth.
Collingswood and Lindenwold played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Collingswood eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory.
