Basketball Recap: Argenta-Oreana Takes a Loss

Argenta-Oreana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights. The Bombers were probably out for revenge after losing 47-29 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond found their leader in sophomore Sophie Monts, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Monts a new career-high in boards.

Argenta-Oreana's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Argenta-Oreana will face off against Villa Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Argenta-Oreana is facing Villa Grove at the right time seeing as Villa Grove is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they will square off against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
