Baseball Recap: Coudersport's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Coudersport won the last time they faced Smethport and things went their way on Monday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Hubbers with a sharp 13-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mitchell Taylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mason Roessner was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Tymber Nichols was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

The win (which was Coudersport's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Smethport, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
