Basketball Recap: DC International Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Digital Pioneers Academy

On Thursday, DC International faced Digital Pioneers Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The DC International Dragons lost to the Digital Pioneers Academy Pythons at home by a 54-35 margin. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, DC International still got an impressive performance from Gavin Moore, who posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jhalil Route, who scored six points.

It was another big night for Imran Buttt, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points for Digital Pioneers Academy. Amarii Bondale was another key player, putting up ten points.

DC International's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

DC International has already played their next game, a 51-46 loss against School Without Walls on the 25th. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-47 victory against Surrattsville on the 25th.
