Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Find Success

Hillcrest lost to Kearns back in August of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Huskies came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 14-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Nola Bonner paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bonner got some help from Jane Thomas and her 25 assists. Bonner also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kinley Woodmansee-Ottenstein, racking up four apiece.

The victory got Hillcrest back to even at 6-6. As for Kearns, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hillcrest will take on rival West Jordan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kearns is set to face off against their familiar foe Taylorsville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
