Volleyball Recap: Adriana Shorter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clearwater Central Catholic over Academy of the Holy Names

Clearwater Central Catholic was the 3-0 winner over Academy of the Holy Names when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marauders fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clearwater Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adriana Shorter, who had ten assists and five digs. Another player making a difference was Megan Christian, who had eight digs.

Clearwater Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Academy of the Holy Names, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Clearwater Central Catholic has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Riverview Sarasota on the 13th. Academy of the Holy Names has also already played their next contest (against Coronado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
