Shea took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hope, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Blue Wave 17-16. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Laurel Christian was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayara Carvalho, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Shea was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Shea's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Hope, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
